Notes

Langford Model Aviation was formed in the mid 1990's by modellers interested in building and flying larger scale models. With membership numbers restricted by the land owner we have a small, but very active group of modellers. The clubs main interest is in power radio controlled aircraft, but some of the members fly RC helicopters as well.

Due to reasons outside our control we are unable to hold competitions at our site, but try to make up for this by travelling to as many events held by other clubs as possible. In 2007 three members of the club were part of the 6 man Northern Ireland team that took 8th place in the World Jet Masters. 28 countries from around the world travelled to Enniskillen for the event and the local team received a lot of support from modellers throughtout Northern Ireland.

In 2008 and 2009 modellers from the club travelled over to England to the BMFA Nationals at RAF Barkston Heath to fly on the Showline. Modellers form other clubs in Northern Ireland flew in various competitions at the event and placed very well.

Langford members are very active in public display flying and have displayed at numerious shows including the Newtownards Air Show, Portrush Air Show, St. Angelo Air Show, local fates and village festivals.

All members of the club are members of the BMFA, with two club examiners. Other members are also memders of the Large Model Association, and hope to fly at LMA events in England and Scotland.
