NIAA Scale Competition Details

Postby Seamus O Donnell » Sun Jun 29, 2014 12:14 am

Two scale events are planned for this year Sunday 6th July at Causeway Coast MFC and Sunday 3rd August North West MAC

Format will be simple this year with two Category's, Flying Only which is exactly as it says, no static judging only requirement is the model is an actual scale model of a fullsize. (pilot in the cockpit required).
Flying schedule to F4C rules, you simply pick a set amount of manoeuvres from a list, including a few mandatory ones to suit your plane, be it, aerobatic or non aerobatic capable. See downloads below.

The second category will be known as NIAA Scale and will be simply the best model on the day judged on a combination of how well built and well scale it was flown this being applicable to the type, this will be awarded by the same judges of the flying only category. Again must be an actual scale model of a fullsize.

Pilots can enter both categories, but not with the same model, however a number of models can be flown on the day if that suits in the NIAA scale category, judges will simply pick what model they felt was the best and anyone can have built or own it.

Format on the day will be off the peg flying until first round of the "Flying only" category takes place at approx 11am after this flying again off the peg until second round of the "Flying Only" category, this then followed with of the peg flying, this will give pilots plenty of time to show off their models and also allow normally club flying to take place in between rounds.
